Resort Information
Chamonix is a world class resort best known as the home of Mont Blanc, the Alps’ highest mountain. For skiers and snowboarders, it offers formidable skiing, both on and off-piste. Its reputation as a mecca for hardcore skiers, however, hides the wide selection of beautiful sunny pistes, perfect for cruising.
Sitting in the valley, Chamonix is made up of the resort centre and a number of lovely villages, including Les Praz (where our chalets are located), Les Tines, Les Houches and Argentière, all overlooked by stunning and dramatic peaks. You can ski three countries on one lift pass; France, Italy (Courmayer) and Switzerland (Verbier). The resort is only an hour by car from Geneva airport, perfect for making the most of your time.
The infamous Vallée Blanche glacier runs down to resort and can be skied with a guide via the Aiguille du Midi mountain peak. A spectacular cable car ride takes you to the top and the views from here are worth a visit, even without the ski down.
The town of Chamonix has plenty to offer, with numerous boutique shops, specialist ski and climbing stores and bars for every taste. On Saturday mornings, the town hosts an outdoor market selling local crafts and produce. There is also a sports centre, with swimming pool, gym and indoor climbing wall, plus a cinema, bowling alley, ice rink and museums if you fancy a day away from the slopes.
